B16's are cool. But if turbo charging is your goal, I would recommend a B18a or b18b. They have strong cylinder walls, low compression, and excellent aftermarket support of cams, intake manifolds, etc. They are normally cheaper then a b16 as well.
If you upgrade your transmission to a gsr transmission you will have a really good turbo setup.
Even in N/A Trim, a b18b with b16 or b18c gsr transmission will be faster then a n/a b16.

personally id say boost a gsr, ive had a turbo LS and now a turbo b16, the b16 lacks a little low end in comparison to the LS, but it makes up for it when vtec comes in.... my b16 on boost pulls about 2 times as hard as my LS did... i ran the LS trans w/ LSD with both setups... a friend of mine has a poormansR in his crx and it runs awsome... you can tell it has more low end than my b16, but both are compareable on top end... and ive been very impressed by most boosted gsr setups ive been in.... but thats just my .02

b18=turbo
b16=n/a
IMO!!! both are great motors but for reliable turbo the b18 is stronger.
