- Tue Jun 15, 2010 3:56 am #200449 The tranny on the y8 is differnt the forks are stee. And the z6 has aluminum forks so the y8 can take a better beating then the z6

- Tue Jun 15, 2010 6:24 am #200475 Another question i have to ask, whats the kind of cheapest way to rebuild it? like just to stock. Motor has around 300xxxkm on it dont know if it burns at all but whats the best route to rebuild?

Best way to rebuild a D-series is to throw it in the trash and get a JDM one for $500.

But that doesn't help you so... order up some high comp pistons and a cam and take it to a shop.
