Hello I have recently purchased a 95 civic lx, I got it home and noticed that the radiator reservoir was completely filled with oil. I bought the car knowing tht it has issues, but haven't noticed any power loss or driveability issues. I thought it could just be a head gasket. Would I be better off getting another motor.
It's not worth tossing the whole motor though...
Check the head for being warped when you replace the head gasket. You never know how bad the previous owner let it overheat.
After the new head gasket, give the coolant system a good flush and your engine will be good again

(while doing the head gasket is also a good time to do the timing belt & water pump)
