Turbo and Supercharger discussion

#206925 so im planning on making a junkyard turbo kit for my d15b7 with 1g dsm parts, and this will be my first turbo project. ill be using a 14b turbo on a hf manifold. i will be running the throttle body inlet hose to the turbo and back to the throttle body for turbo cooling but im unsure of what lines to use when doing this. ive heard of people using the stock 14b water lines but it seems like they wouldnt fit/reach where they were supposed to. does anybody know what water lines i should use?

#206957 I dont know what water line to use but i would not use the tb line just because you dont want to heat up the tb more than what it already is. If anything i would reroute the tb line just so you dont heat up the on coming air to gain some power. Good luck with the build sorry i cant help

This is exactly what I hear of people doing. Just get some small rubber hose from the parts store and re-route the coolant to go to/from the turbo instead of the Throttle Body and IACV (on back of intake mani).

#207005 i have also read about people hooking turbo water lines up in series with the heater core. after somebody posted a question about it i looked into it more and think its a good idea. in the winter you will get heat faster and your turbo will be getting circulating water even when the tstat is closed.

#207676 cool the heater core sounds like a much better idea than a 500 degree throttle body, thanks guys! :)
