#207544 Alright this guy is selling a stroker kit on CL for 600. I know that's a good deal but i was also reading that it would be better just to bore my gsr block to 84.5mm×89mm. So what do you guys think? Should i get the 82mm striker kit or just bore it out. Its going to be for a street/track car. Thanks.

#207573 Definitely bore the block, IMO. But I wouldn't go more than 83mm on the stock sleeves. Stroking isn't really all that it's talked up to be in the B-series world. Yeah, going from 87.2mm to 89mm stroke (GSR crank to LS crank) is nice, but theres a good deal of work involved with stroking out to 92mm like the GE kit offers.

I'd just go sleeved/bored to 84x89 and call it a day. You'd be at the same bore/stroke dimensions as the B20, but without the headache of doing a B20/VTEC.

#207632 Oh ok well thanks for letting me know. Its bored to 82mm is it worth getting it bored to 84 for should i just leave it as is?

#207722 Is it already sleeved? If not, boring it out right now would be a mistake. That would lead to a cracked cylinder if you're not careful with RPMs and compression/boost (don't know which one you're wanting). I'd leave it as it is if it's not sleeved with aftermarket sleeves.

#207764 Yeah it has stock sleeves. And i have 11.5 comp. pistons but i was reading that you could bore it to an 83 with no worries on the sleeves. Am i mistaken on this? I am new to the honda game so i don't know much.

#207836 Yeah, you can bore it out to 83mm no problem. But since you already have 11.5:1 compression ratio, why would you want to? I would run that 'til it pops, then rebuild. Or run that as it is and build an engine on the side to the specs you want, then throw that in when you're done building it.

#207841 Well i was reading on DH-Racing and they were saying how there parts give you a bunch of horsepower, so i was going to go with that. I am not sure that what they are saying is completely true though. What do you think?

#207845 Every company will tell you their products make moer power than everyone else's products. From what I can tell, this company is no different.

They say the taper design throttle body is new and innovative. It's not. Look at your stock TB. It's tapered down from whatever it is to 62mm. A 69mm TB is way to big for anything but a boosted the hell out engine, and even still, you won't make a huge amount of power over the stock TB. And $75 more for the intake manifold? Seriously? That's like saying, "Hey! We make shitty parts!"

#207863 Haha yeah. I was just wondering your thoughts on it and i see that now. So in your point of view what company would be good to build the internals in a head and what intake manifold would be best? I want a high end N/A motor.

#208008 AEBS intake manifold, Skunk2 valves, springs, and retainers, Skunk2 Pro2 cams, and a high end header. Don't get a DC header and call it a day. Those are quite restrictive compared to most, if not all of the higher end headers on the market. If I didn't have the problems I've had with my header, I'd recommend it to you, but it's a pain in the ass if you have to do anything with the transmission other than changing the fluid.

My main point is: don't cheap out on parts.

I was talking to a guy the other day on another forum. He was about to buy an Ebay special header called a Cosmo Dynamics or something to the effect. I looked at the product on Ebay and holy shit... They advertise it as SUS304 stainless steel. That's surgical grade stainless steel. For $75. I told him I would come to his house and slap him if he bought it. So don't make me come to your house and slap you for buying cheap parts. :D

#208013 Hahaha no worries man i have Hytech Tri-y headers. I was also reading on a forum, i doubt its true, but some guy was saying that there are cams out there that gives you 60hp. Is this true?

#208022 Hell if I know... There could be, but I'm not all up to date on my parts like I used to be.

Hytech FTW. Can't go wrong. Next question: Is it ceramic coated? I made that mistake on my header, not coating it.

#208033 Nope its not ceramic coated, is it better if it was?

#208060 Keeps engine bay temperatures WAY down. My header is less than 1/4" from my slave cylinder, if I had coated it, I would not have gone through 2 slave cylinders by now.
