#209449 Hey all,

I recently acquired a D16Z6 and this will be a long term project for me (mainly as I have no money). I want to make sure the engine is in great condition and boost it at the time of fitting. Im not looking for anything crazy either, I will be keeping the engine stock and want to be able to use regular unleaded fuel (95 RON here in the uk). What HP/PSI could I go to keeping regular fuel and stock D16Z6? I know a great tune helps so ill be investing in one too...

If going to 240 odd means using higher grade fuel Ill limit it... this will be a daily driver so Im trying to keep it fun but costs down :D

#209462 Ok so 95 RON is the highest grade fuel you can get? Do you not have 98 RON available?

For those of you (me included) in the US this (95 RON) equates to 89 octane fuel (midgrade). No matter what grade fuel you get ... get it tuned. You will probably be looking at lower numbers than some of the people are getting here just because the fuel is going to be a limiting factor. Most people who are boosted (and DD) use the highest grade pump gas available (by pump gas I mean standard fuel you can get at any fuel station), which in most areas of the US is between 91 - 94 octane (98 RON). I believe you will be able to make good numbers, but realistically you will probably see lower numbers than others' have seen on their boosted z6 motors, simply because the tune will have to be more conservative to prevent catastrophic failure (we don't want to have busted sleeves, now, do we).
