#209185 D16Z6 - having problem reving over 4500 RPM.
The Problem started. I did a complete exhaust system swap,( 2 1/4") kept the original CAT. After the swap the car ran fine, a short time later
the car loss most of the power. when the thottle is fully open it has a
very hard time reaching 6000RPM and at times the rev will not reach
4000 RPM. The Engine is running very Hot but not overheating. The
car runs fine when it cool. Once the motor reached its operating temperture. the performance of the motor is loss.

I thought the CAT was clogged.

worked done to rectify the problem.
reinstalled the original exhaust.
Clean out the CAT.

Problem still presisting. I ran out of ideas. Thinking of getting a
new CAT, but not sure if this will help fix this problem. Any assistance
will be greatly appricated. Civic 93 SI Hatch. - Weekend and holiday machenic.

#209323 Check engine light is not on and the coolant temperture is not over
heating.

Yesterday. I swap the Face of the Throttle body - The face included
the MAP sensor, ICV, IACV ect. . Was removed from a 94 Civic SI Coupe.
installed part on to a 93 SI. One of the lower coolant host was a little difficult to installed, the location was a little off compair to the 93 Hatch.

Car is running better, took it for a test drive for about 35 mins problem
seems to be gone, by swaping the face, It must be one of the sensors.

Question? Will changing the Exhaust System cause any of these Sensor
to go Bad " ICV, IACV, the MAP sensor.

#209550 Ok. Do this check your tranny fluid make sure it's where it's supposed to be. 1.9QT. almost 2 bottles of honda MTF. drain and refill if you want. There's really no actual way of checking if it's at the right level besides you draining the old fluid and filling with new. That way you know you did it !! I had this similar problem when my tranny fluid was low. I had a bad transmission leak. Also changed the VSS ( Vehicle Speed Sensor) located on the back part of the transmission had a plug on it.

Check those replace if you have to and see if the problem persists.. it should take car of the problem. Oh and make sure you dont have any transmission leaks. mainly from your Axle Seals....................

#209551 Check the earlier repley,

I have stated that the problem was fix, by changing the face of the
throttle body, which included the ICV, IACV and the Map sensor. My
tranny has no leak, and the fluid was replaced last year with the one and only Honda MTF.

thanks for your comment.
