2001 sentra 1.8 GXE (smog question)

- Fri Aug 20, 2010 12:20 am #209702 So my girls car has been fucken up for days. Only wants to go 45 mph and no more so it threw 7 codes mainly leading to the MAF. I replaced that last night and it ran like a brand new car. Still is running fine and accelerates but it threw another CEL and this one is either ignition, vacuum leak, or CAT. I am thinkin its def the cat because I sprayed ether near everything leading to the intake manifold and nothing happened also the car has 2 cat a front cat (built in to exhaust mani) and then the rear cat which I already gutted a while back....

So... questions should I buy the front cat and try to smog?

Buy both cats and be done with it $1000 later

OR

try and seafoam the car and run premium fuel with a couple bottles of octane booster forget about the cats and go for the smog?

P.S. why the fuck did I move to a smog state? lol

- Fri Aug 20, 2010 6:27 am #209762 Also, it could be your O2 sensor as this might be related to smog. But like other said, get the code pulled so you have a list of what you need to look into.

- Tue Jan 11, 2011 1:09 am #232565 lol you know I already had the hatch...fuckin sold it though cuz i had to move to Nv from Va....but i found a loop hole i can just smog it in another city 30 mins away that doesnt require smog since apparently the whole state isnt on board.
