I have a b 18b1 and was buying a greddy turbo from a guy and he has ecu but it was tuned for a b series vtec and was wondering if it would work on non vtec

No. VTEC fuel and timing maps are not going to work on a Non-VTEC engine. Get your ECU chipped and get the tuning done on that.

You have to have it chipped, or at least socketed accept a chip. If you have any tuners in your area they can do it for you. I honestly don't know how to socket/chip and ECU because electrical stuff intimidates the hell out of me.
You might also be able to find some socketed/chipped ECUs on ebay or craigslist.
