#218056 on the b16 swap you will need to convert to obd1(obd1 dizzy, injectors, alternator) pretty much all but the dizzy can be reused from your d series.

With a b16 Transmission i never got better then 29mpg. I Normally average 21-25mpg currently. Granted most is in town. but freeway crusing at 4k wont be very helpful.

A GSR Tranny will put 500rpms lower then the b16 tranny. and the LS tranny will kill your accerlation. but you give you good fuel economy. With the Torqueless B16 I wouldn't recommmend the LS Tranny.

Something to consider as well is if you get a b18b or b20b and mate it to your b16 tranny. It will be much much quicker, have power starting at 2k not 5k and be able to use reguler gas. not premium which is a requirement of all DOHC VTEC Honda Engines.

#218062 Not sure if I understand your question.

When I had my b16 EK hatch i got 22-27mpg
When I swapped out the b16 for a b20 and kept the b16 tranny i got 21-29mpg.

My D15b7 Civic EG Sedan gets 37-40mpg on average. Best I got with it was 46mpg on a super long freeway cruise.

HUGE World of difference in terms of economy. The B16 will get much worse economy becouse its super low geared transmission to make up for the fact its torque-less.

If you want to get really good fuel economy, but still be decently quick, Mini-mes are good for just general driving. if you want some real power you can still get 30mpg plus on a turbo D Series. It would be about the same money as a b series swap when you factor in all the tuning. but then again you would blow stock b series away with it in boost. and get way better fuel economy then them.

Well yeah true, but not really angry at that. Just the fact that australia is so americanised and it's good, yet it's hard to get rare parts, or even reese's peanut butter cups and we don't even get NFL :(

Except for the k20a3 for some reason it doesn't require premium. probably because it is econo vtec and not performance vtec

**Thats why we swap the 5th gear out for a LS (b18b tranny) when we put our lsd diff in and it makes gas milage very nice
LS (b18b) fith gear will let you run 80 mph at 3,600 rpm**
