- Mon Nov 22, 2010 3:31 am #223978 I'm kinda surprised actually... I give it a thumbs up but it seem like there's something missing.... idk I didnt feel the classieness of thee original euro top gear nor the humor on that sense... but everything is down to the tee even the look of the set...

Idk where this is going but let's see how far they go...

- Mon Nov 22, 2010 4:04 am #223987 i like tanner dont like the fat guy from nascar i hated him .....didnt like how they where so far from the camera like there wasnt a pan to the hosts you had to wait to see them up close.....but yea idk if i like it or dislike it i can tell right now not likeing the one guy probaly due to his tie with nascar....

edit: im editing because i just watched it again and lets just say :eh: idk wtf i was doing last night but this show is spectacularly boring.....i guess you can only watch it once... but who knows maybe its like the first top gear horribly boring and then theyll get cancelled for a couple years come back better then ever... but i gotta agree they are missing something something big

- Mon Nov 22, 2010 6:29 pm #224078 the show seems to be missing the depth put into the british version, it seems as if everyone is talking in a monotone voice, the way they express themselves dosent feel natural.

i watched an episode and i was bored out of my mind (the one with the viper and the cobra heli, and the 3 lambos ). this show leaves ALOT of room for improvement so hopefully theyll use it.

One thing I dont like is the fact that they make some of the segments seem like its their original idea. They made no mention of their Brittish parent show. The other is the interview section SUCKED! I dont know if its because Buzz Aldrin is about as exciting as a root canal in a mexican back alley dentist office, or because the interviewer is equally as bland....but that segment was painful to watch. I am almost afraid to hear what the guys across the pond will say bout the show when they return! LOL

yea the interviewing sucks lets just say jeremy clarkson made buzz aldrin sound interesting lol. so its probaly the interveiwer and yea i agree they made the show like it was their own idea i remember the lotus helicopter challenge that was cool the viper not so much they played the game while jeremy tried to just show off.....lol

And when they present the stig its not interesting or funny at that...

I heard that they are using the same camera crew from the UK version so the cinematography should be the same or at least get better....it could be an editing department issue...who knows. Clarkson could make paint drying sound exciting! LOL that dude is funny as fuck

- Wed Nov 24, 2010 7:30 pm #224496 It was better then I thought it would be. However its not near as good as the British one. We will see how it folds out, It might get better in the coming seasons. However All the above said. Its probally one of the best american car shows.

I hope the do the two random jokes about the stig before introducing himself in the next episode. Im hoping the lame intro was just to familize non British topgear watching viewers to the stig.

I was also disapointed with the Lambo run. There was montage of people goofing off then a standing mile. I was hoping for more as the british version almost always has more then 1 test in something like that. Especially for "the best" Lamborgini.

I will watch the next one and hope for improvement.

- Wed Nov 24, 2010 8:04 pm #224502 sounds like it went quite badly. I was also watching walking dead... its a good show so far. Anyway, the bar has just been set too high by the real top gear hosts. You cant replace them. Every one of them is perfect for their role in the show. Is it the same stig or "stigs american cousin?" Cant believe they didnt do the two corny jokes before the lap. But im sure they are just trying to make it a little different, otherwise why watch it at all, itd be like watching reruns where theyve put bad actors in. (i say reruns because it sounds like they are just doing cars that have already been done; guess theyd have to if they wanted it to be any good)
