Has anyone tried side gapping their plugs or have any opinions on possible problems caused by doing so?

Got to go with the majority here and say NGK. You might even want to give the iridium plugs a try.

I had the Denson Iridium Plugs (IK16 for D16z6) and I really didnt notice any difference with the NGK V Powers except that they last longer always stay with OEM NGK

My old boss used to use NGK 3330's on his 600hp hatch and every car we put together from stock to freaking boosted pleasure. NGK changed the part number recently so I'm not a 100% on the new one so I'll check it when I go get my next set on Friday.
