- Fri Dec 31, 2010 3:33 am #230653 i have a d16z6 swap in my ef. when i start it, it starts right up. but the idle is really low. below 1k. sounds like its running rough. sometimes it even dies out and the car stops running and i would have to start it again.

But if i give it gas when its at low idle it will stay running. after the car is warm the car idles at a perfect idle. but when the car gets cold back to where i started with low idle again. any help on what this might be? could it be clogged fuel filter?

my engine was worn out though and only had 95-110 compression in the cylinders

- Tue Feb 01, 2011 6:39 am #236438 Well to my knowledge, the EGR valve on the Z6 will not set off a check engine light. Try unplugging it and seeing if the car starts any differently, or acts differently.

The EGR valve is the one on the intake manifold at the back right of the engine (when your facing it). It has a vacuum line going from the bottom of it into the intake manifold, and has a small cylinder at the top of it.

If you can't find it, let me know and I'll take a picture and show you what it looks like. And if you do find it, let me know how it works out for you.
