#23290 At the risk of sounding stupid, I'll ask this question...

One of the last few legal mods I can make to my car is installing "crash bolts."

For clarification, these are mounting bolts used to correct minor camber problems, usually after a collision.

These are NOT camber plates, or kits, usually used when reducing ride height.

Installation of these bolts is legal, IF the FSM states installation is an approved method for correcting minor camber issues.

Now, I've read the Helms manual and can't find this mentioned.

Does anyone know of a printed manual (Helms, Honda, whateva) that approves crash bolt (or, camber bolt) installation?

Thanks!

#23361 crash bolts are usually bolts that are not the same length as the original bolts. usually when hit, your car cannot return to manufacturer specs.

ie. your car now has -2 degrees of camber instead of 0 by oem spec.

you use longer bolts + washers to cancel out these effects. These are now crash bolts as the term crash is used just to classify that you are using them to correct a problem to return to oem spec.

#23464 I should've specified that, but I'm really wanting them for the front.

However, instead of losing negative camber, I want to gain it. :hehe:

#23793 camber bolts are used in the front of strut type front(or rear) suspension to adjust camber in a low buck kind of way.I personnaly don't think it would fit/work on a double wishbone front suspension like on a 88-00 Civic
