#247353 I just wanna see what everyone finds the most annoying about the scene.. NO DISCUSSIONS ABOUT OFF TOPIC, keep it mature and speak to each other.. Do not argue!!!!! Just post the trend and explain yourself.. No need to flame anyone.

I will start:
- I cannot stand overly "stanced" jdm cars. I don't see a point in spending that much money to make your car look like its broken. I do understand you need some camber to go lower, but there's a limit between looking good and looking like a fool.

#247364 A lot of people aren't going to agree with this, but I say the whole JDM "scene" is annoying. Why does there have to be a "scene?" Or why are people getting in or out of the "Honda game?" Never have I understood why people need driver's badges, shocker decals, and clusters that don't even have mph. I like working on my EG because it's a fun and challenging hobby, never a game. Never ever would I try to be in somebody's "crew." I am just a car enthusiast that likes to build and bullshit cars. I am not a crew member trying to gain respect because of my new tow hook.

JDM is a term for Japan's economic market for Japanese-brand goods. Why we use it as an adjective so often is beyond me.

I know the OP said 'No discussions" but feel free to add your input on what I have said. It feels nice to finally get this off my chest.

#247400 I will have to say the WHOLE JDM trend is rather annoying. The stanced/hella flush thing isnt a "JDM" thing.

I get sick and tired of seeing jdm this and jdm that, when its not. Its no where near close to being jdm.

#247405 I'm all about jdm inspiration but unless your entire car is from japan all original, shut up :)

#247408 I got the eg6 sir cluster in my turbo car, not because its "jdm" or "fresh" but just because I like the white face and amber light up at night..... I also bought the thin side moldings for my turbo car, but to to be in a trend or anything but just for the simple fact that I like how they look nothing more nothing less.... as far as going out the way to by jdm add ons I dont see it... most of the jdm stuff people pay oh so much for isn't for anything of real purpose anyway other than to say thy have it.....

#247487 I don't like the idea of a "honda game" either. I just like to make my car go as fast as i want it to go and look how i want it to look. sure, ill ocassionally cruise with friends or whatnot, but the main thing i want to start focusing on is autocross and time attack.

i do like some JDM "goodies", but only the ones that have function(like the optional center console.)

the thing i hate the most is body kits. i still hate them.

#247493 people need to understand that JDM is a market!!

DEPO blackhousing headlights
with your VISION amber corners
and your DEPO red/clear lights are NOT JDM

JDM is something stock that was built for the japan market
that doesnt mean "oh well my hatch was made in japan, that means its jdm" wtf! shut the fuk up.. your hatch was built in JAPAN for the USDM market

this made me laugh "if u can get it in japan then its jdm"(someone on this fourm said that), thats saying that my USDM corners are jdm, cause people in japan can get them.. thats like also saying that anything for a FORD is jdm.. cuz the japs can get it.. shut the fuk up...

and that hella fresh stance shit, annyos the shit outta me too
i mean wtf, you swap in a gsr then slam the shit outta ur car where only 1/2inch of tire is on the road... why have a quick motor when u cant go fast.. and not to mention u go through tires every week.. pointless to mee

ohh and calling ur thule bike racks JDM
go on to craiglist and type in "jdm bike rack" and see how many fucking
dumbass are out there..

as you can seee, i very mcuh hate the word jdm..
but people dont understand, they just jump on this bandwagon and follow everyone else.. but u get hated on for bein diff, till ur style is in..

to be honest im bout to sell my civic and buy a fucking truck

Couldnt you just do both?

----

perhaps there are two meaning of the word jdm. litteral jdm and then the slang jdm, to which most people typically refer. Remember there was a time when bad was only a negative thing. 'jdm" doesnt have to be litteral.

I never use either, but perhaps that is the way that some people see it.

i like slammed cars, if you see them at the drag strip then you can make jokes. The crazy camber on the other hand is stupid, so i agree there.

given the conversation that has gone on so far, im not sure how to answer the original post. Do i complain about cars made for the japan market or do i complain about the style that people refer to as jdm here in the u.s. ?!?!

Ill do both.
japan market-They always made their own cars better, assholes.

"jdm"- there are only so many variations before cars start to look the same. There comes a point where stock is more rare than a "jdm" car. So if your planning on going that route to be different, save your money and stay stock.
