#253534 I heard that that undercoating stuff works good for coating the floor to eliminate road noise... Just an idea and it could be painted over if you wanted, I'm doing the coating on my car when I paint

i think he meant like the rubberized undercoating. u apply that kind of paint in areas like the wheel wells and the underside of ur car. not to sure about it though i could be wrong.

EDIT: YAY another White hatch. dude i needa do my paint job again i have the orange peel texture in my paint and alot of runs :(. if ur doing this urself its probably gonna be the most labor intense thing ever

#253553 the rubberized undercoating works good if you live in a dryer area without snow/salt/ alot of rain but it tends to hold in alot of moisture and causes rot in the inner wheel wells if u live in an area like i do.

#253561 So i went 2 the auto parts store 2 buy sand paper, primer, paint, n all the other stuff i will b needing 2 prep the hatch 4 painting n the night manager from the auto parts store gave me discount on everything n he let me have a gallon of Championship White for FREE!!! :woot: :woot: :woot: There will be more updates n pics 2morrow. #253564 Clearly you guys didn't understand my comment haha, I mentioned that if coating the inner floor... Under the carpet it will help quiet things up, and as for the rot... If you put it over a moistened area then yes it will rot, but as for a dry area you will be fine. They sell spray sound elimination spray and all I was sayin is that its the same thing and it's a good idea while the carpet is out because we all know how it sounds going down the hwy haha

Yeah. But the noise doesn't bother me that much cause i have music playing, n i dont have carpet. But i might look into that spray.

Ya like I said it's not for everone but I'm one of those people that will rip the car apart to find that little squeak so I will be goin that route

Ps been following the build and it's comming along nicley... As for that peice that broke on the engine I was going to make a joke and say "JB weld" but I figured people would think I was serious haha :lol:

You are bang on! Rubber undercoating... It go's by a couple names like rock guard aswell but the stuff that dynomat sells to spray into the cracks is the same stuff
