Head was resurfaced and valve job.
All new gaskets and seals when head was installed.
Reused b7 head bolts, torqued correctly.
Timing seems to be a little off.
Had idle problem but now idles well.

Puffs out, what looks to me like, white smoke.
500 miles driven = 1QT of Oil missing.
Coolant stays full w/coolant still in overflow catch.

Did the following so far;
Looked at tops of pistons by shining a flashlight in the spark plug hole.
-Car had sat overnight
No visible oil on tops of pistons. Spark plugs look clean as well.
No oil leaks.

Compression Test Numbers:
Dizzy 260 240 240 270 Timing Belt

Compression seems high and it's still burning oil? I mean, the oil is going somewhere and it's still smoking.

#255682 Anything else I can try to isolate the problem? To me it seems like the rings are bad but the compression numbers are good. Smoke smells more like exhaust then burnt oil.

#255686 did you replace the rings when you replaced all the gaskets and seals?

correct, you cannot re-use 'torque to yield' head bolts.
but i have re-used the z6 head bolts many times with no problem.

#255780 compresion can be good even oil piston ring is in bad condition... i think

#255886 No oil in coolant.

B7 head bolts are same size as Z6.

Nothing has been done to the bottom end of the motor so the rings have not been replaced.

I will be doing a leak down test this weekend if I get time.

Seems like its burning very rich as well. Black soot when you cover exhaust pipe with hand.
