- Thu Jun 02, 2011 3:44 pm #257861 So i want to do a y8 swap but i keep reading that iwould have to use a higher octane fuel , i live on long island (NY) and gas prices out here are crazyy so i was wondering does it really matter if i use regular gas? Would this cause any problems

- Thu Jun 02, 2011 6:27 pm #257882 Your compression will be around 10.5:1 I believe which WILL require higher octane fuel. I'd suggest 91 octane at the minimum.
