#258050 need help guys cant figure out what it is that is making my coupe do this. it seems like after i shift into a gear like if i drive normal then give it a lil it seems to be boggy and kinda stumble. it idles fine and isnt throwingthe cel either. its a d15b7. was thinking maybe the fitv or something?
edit- found out pcv valve was really gunked up. cleaned it up as much as possilbe. now smokes more then before not as much bogging or stumbling but still kinda there. now i think my gas gauge isnt working right either?!?! changing fuel filter and valve seals might help and new plugs and wires

#258055 ive only put like 80 miles on her since i bought her. soo i dont know. the cap looks mint tho. the plus and wires r gonna b replaced when i get the money but im gnna prob get cap and rotor first gotta check prices.

#258958 im gonna do a ct on her today. ive gone through jsut unde 5 quarts of oil in less then a week... its ridiculous. someone wants to sell me their full ls swap for 550 tho. if i could affordit id get that in a heart beat it just needs a clutch.

Cool, good luck. Its too bad you arent closer i keep my compression gauge in my trunk :thumb: Its there along with my 10,12,14,17,19, and 21 sockets. Basically everything i need to tear down my car. (i also keep an axle nut socket). Thats one of the things i love about hondas, you can tear them down with 5 pounds of tools.

Anyway, little bit off topic there. Does your car run better now? Is it just smoking? If so i am definitely putting my money on your oil rings man. Also, if you get good compression numbers that doesnt mean that your oil rings arent bad. Your compression rings could be fine and your oil rings could still be gunked up or worn out. Give your motor atleast a couple hours of sitting before you test compression too.

#259035 so i shuld check it first thing in the morning? its been sitting since about 430 this afternoon. i found thers 3 exhaust leaks now not 1. mani to downpipe gasket 2. flange/front of cat 3. crack on cat in back. the back of the motor is wet in oil and i think the pan gaskets a lil iffy but it doesnt seem to really leave any spots when i park. the gas gauge only stops working right after it gets under 1/4 tank. its still wicked boggy and smokes more when its colder. u think i could just make a testpipe??? it woul help move the exhaust back too so it doesnt hit the body too. that mflat metal bracket goes to the motor. idk why but it does. ill post pics on my build thread tomorrow before my gfs party haha
