#261697 344,000KM on my little D16

Currently running Honda Semi-Syn 5w20 (work at honda dealer).

On 25L of gas I got 436KM (41.09MPG).

I did math, I do 5.2L each way to work, so on my 45L tank I could get 774KM lol.

I am going to run Shell 91 gas for 1 tank (no ethonal) and up tire PSI to 36 and sit at 100km in slow lane for 1 week of driving and Im going to try for 725KM.

Anybody done this on a Si coupe?

#261707 The best I have gotten on my 92 with D16z6 is 38 MPG.

and the motor has this big metal snail shaped thing mounted on the front :hehe:

A Canadian si coupe... is the same as the US ex coupe with the d16z6? (US did not have Si coupes until 1999 and they were B16a2 powered)

#261792 Best I have got on my Daily Sedan (d16z6 + Civic HX tranny) is 52mpg on the freeway. High 30's in town.

Gets better economy with a D16z6(no vtec hooked up, running on d15b7 ecu) then a d15b7 with the same transmission. It quicker and has way more torque. If all you do is Just daily commute its a good setup. Good economy and decent performance for city driving/free commuting.

#261918 Best i got in my 93 civic (auto w/d15b non vtec) was 36mpg on the highway, and 30mpg city. i will be hopefully driving another civic by the end of next week. i now drive 120miles/day for work and my turbo brick(volvo s70) isnt cutting it with 20mpg city and 26mpg highway.

#262662 Filled the D16 70% full of high test (shell) no ethonal (30% still 87 petro). Tires at 34psi.

Drive from Mississauga - Kitchener and Kitchener - Mississauga everyday. Shifting at 2000rpm, doing 95ish on highway drafting when possible, my goal was 7 one way trips. But at pace I am at after trip 5, I may try for 8 ;) :

#262999 Doesn't the trans have more to do with gas mileage than the engine? Hence the looooong gears of the VX model?
