- Sat Jul 23, 2011 1:13 pm #264651 planking originated from my old town in Adelaide, South Australia as a radio show gimmick and blew up from that, in its innocence it was funny but when people are taking it to the extreme risking their lives planking from stupid heights and moving objects ruins the whole the fun of it when lives are lost
