- Sat Oct 01, 2011 6:27 pm #275620 Ok guys im thinking about buying a ek with a d16y8 from my brother in law. I know its not a eg but i trust u guys. Anyway it seems to be running good. Its got a small oil leak comin from the v-tec cylinoid. But he said he seen the temp gauge go up like its running hot. A couple times. But he put a new radiater,radiater fan, thermostat, and thermostat sensor in it. I ran it for about a hour and drove it a bit and the temp never went up at all. Any ideas?

- Sat Oct 01, 2011 10:56 pm #275672 There v-tec solenoid is just a gasket its like 15 bucks from Honda or less, just be careful tightening it to much and it will crack. But the leak is pretty common problem. The temp issue can be either a bad sensor for the gauge or the coolant needs to be air bleed, there are two sensor under and by the dizzy I can not remember which one is for the gauge in the car and which is for the ecu.

- Sun Oct 02, 2011 1:00 am #275690 ty guys so much alot better than what i was thinkin. Anyone know which senser is wich. I just wanna jump on this. He bought the car for 3000. Then he tented the windows. Buts some decent lookin 14 inch rims on it. Not sur of the brand. Mut streetglow underglows on and then spent 1200 on cd player and dvd combo with amp speakers nd to have it installed professioally. And he said he will sell it for 2400 just because he dont drive it... Only body damage is some scratches and the front bumper is cracked

parts 11 and 12 and 13 are your sensors
