well i decided since im spending so much time on other peoples cars trying to fix my own up that i would post pics of current projects of coarse some have seen previous projects mainly ef hatches well go figure i got another one im building from the ground up ohhh joy lol.....lets start from the beginning
Current project : 1990 civic dx hatch
mods alot
i bought well technically traded a bunch of civic parts for this civic and the interior and other parts from a 89 civic hatch but yea originally this was going to be built for me but i ended up getting my aunts crv well then it went to apexracing but i took too long and he found a sweet ex coupe which im sure would be better then this hatch for the baby and now its to my buddy with a dx 1994 coupe with less then stellar looks and rot its got alot of miles steering rack axles and a few other parts are going on it and well i told him about the hatch and he said go for it
i got this hatch originally before the flood but never picked it up until after which is a good thing this is how it looked when i got it back
only spot of rust
now given this is a shell that i think was just used as a drag car since there was absolutely nothing but a steering wheel hollowed out dash and a few other tid bits he had a white 1990 hatch that was rusty also no motor but a full interior so i took that and cut some parts off that as well and emptied it put it on my patio and put my nose to the grindstone
after cleaning my welding helmet i decided it wasnt worth my losing my eye sight and went to harbor frieght and got me a new auto darkening helmet i miss my cf look but this ones growing on me also had to rebuild and clean my welder up that went under 6' of water at least.....
second time i had to rebuild the motor lol
sparkle sparkle like new again yay
and i began to weld first up was the seat belts since the previous idiot didnt know crap and decided to put non seatbelt doors on the car and sell off the seatbelt doors well figures right had to do this swap wish i could of kept everything for my crx
but meh shit happens
yea my welds dont look good but i know they will hold up very well plus if i had gas they would look alot cleaner just using flux right now
then i made the decision that i couldnt find a decent set of oem seats for this civic ef hatch at all closest i found was out of the parts car and they were 88-89 so they would not work at all....so i had the floor pans out of a civic coupe i parted out and well hey thought why the heck not and began work
no turning back now
with the seats now good to go tested and tested again doing stupid thing kicking the seat etc nothing budged so i was satisfied
then i began to fix the shitty auto to manual conversion first off by welding up the hole
then i found the oem holes for the shift linkage
and welded 12mm bolts to it
then i began work on the engine bay and wiring to get everything so it shall work properly
yes there are three holes i will be putting in a battery in the trunk not in the front
took out the old small and leaky brake mc and booster and i bought a 92 da setup from my yard that looked pretty much new but yea dont have it in yet
also planning on wiring in the clutch pedal so it works correctly but anyhow
and thats all the pics right now i spitshined the engine bay so now its clean as clean can be simple green works wonders i also am almost done with the wiring of the reverse lights and such but yea still got a bit to go hoping within the next week or tops two to have this done i have all the parts mostly now but yea let me know what you think and im sure more projects to come
