now for a large update seeing as I have not posted something in a while. I have been at work with a few things, so here it is!
Finally got to put my ITR rims back on for the summer!
My Cam Seal Plug was leaking, the V-tec Solinoid Gasket was no good, causing a leak, the Distributor O-ring was also no good so I was at work to replace them with nice new genuine honda parts
here are the parts:
First I removed the valve cover, my valve cover gasket is still pretty much mint since I did my timing belt, water pump and tensioner about 25K km's ago
removed the V-tec Solinoid and cleaned it up, also removed the distributor after marking its proper placement on my engine.
Then worked on removing the cam seal by taking off the camshaft cover off.
New honda cam seal plug on the left from a B17 engine and my old jdm honda B16A cam seal plug on the right
Because the valve cover needs to be removed to change the Cam Seal Plug, I decided to paint it since I am not much of a fan of the original black wrinkle paint. I decided to paint the valve cover gloss black with a nice shinny clear coat, here is the process I took:
Paint stripper
First coat of paint
And the finished product with all the seals and gaskets changed
THE NEXT BIG PROJECT I HAVE STARTED!!!
Since I pretty much vinyl wrap cars all the time as my side job, you can see many pictures of my work here:
www.facebook.com/CarbonFiberMatteBlackVinylWrapping
I have decided to wrap my whole car in matte black!!! And have the Hood, Roof and Hatch wrapped in Carbon fiber.
my matte black roll of vinyl
My old fenders, front bumper, rear bumper, and front lip were all damaged in their own different ways, so I have replaced all of them with new parts, and have alredy finished wrapping both my fenders, front bumper, rear bumper and my new genuine honda front lip in matte black. The hood, roof and trunk has been wrapped in Carbonfiber for over a year now aswell. Last thing that needs to be done is cutting out the rust in my quarter pannels and interior quarter pannels and weld on new sheet metal, then I can finish wrapping the rest of the car
Here are some pics so far, thought I would share them with everyone here on civic-eg since I will not be posting them on my website
Maybe in the next couple of weeks, I will have had the rest of my body work done and ready to wrap the rest of the car
let me know what you all think? thanks for any input, thoughts and ideas!
