#315507 Here you require a cert for most mods.

If a car is on lowering springs and above 100mm you dont need a cert

If a car is on coilovers, you need a cert.

If a car is under 100mm you need a cert.

The 100mm is from the lowest structual point, so bumpers and exhausts dont count but you always get the odd d!ck cop trying to measure your clearance from the exhuast or something stupid.

Either way the laws work quite well, as there is a roadworthy inspection every 6 months which ensures all this is in check, among other things.

Although really its not hard to get away with being lower than 100mm or having coilovers without a cert, just avoid police attention and swap to stock for inspections. you can easily pass through a breath test illegal as anything because all theyre doing is breath testing...

These un-educated traffic cops did the same to me last week they pulled me over saying that my car is to low and they have to be able to get 2 fingers in the arch.
So I asked him, my grandfather bought an SL Merc and trust me you wont be able to get half a finger in between the arch and the wheel!!!! But that is legal and then what about Ferrari's, Masarati's and a lot of other cars that comes out low as hell from the factory.
So he said no that is different...HOW THE F IS THAT DIFFERENT!!! I spend R9000 on my suspension and then you see a bakkie driving by that is making 4 rows of tracks on the ground.....

But as you know you cannot even start to argue with these KFC eating mo-fo's they will just impound your car or take the license off.... :x
Really we are fighting a loosing battle, unless you can give me your girlfriends number so that when this happens the cop can call her!lol

Luckily not but this guy just tried to piss me off, he said because my car is in such a good condition, that he will let me go. So then when I got my license back I saw that the thing expired and he did not even pick that up was too busy wasting my time..
