#317008 I've been thinking... Facebook has jumped the shark IMO. First there was the privacy settings they botched a few times. Then timeline. Now it's well on its way to the next Myspace. (I should say the previous version of Myspace since there is an all new Myspace coming out.)

Especially on the mobile Facebook, I'm annoyed by all the suggestions to like companies. "so and so liked Walmart, Amazon, Samsung... etc" I don't give a shit
What was once a site to keep in touch with friends is now a corporate advertising black hole.

Plus you have morons posting the dumbest shit like a pic of a cute puppy or a soldier saying "Like if you want the puppy/soldier to live" Or "like if you love your mom, keep scrolling if you hate her"
And morons don't realize that liking this makes it more prominent on your friends' news feeds and more morons like it, causing it to spread like wildfire.

Now, we have political adds to scroll past too. Facebook, you don't need to suggest that I like Obama or Romney. If I like either one that much, I'll take the time to find their page on my own and hit the like button.

Zuk went public with stock just in time to see the start of FB crashing and burning, IMO.

The ONLY thing that FB has over the old Myspace is that users cant code their own page with bullshit html causing all kinds of glittery graphics to pop up and songs and slideshows to play.

Yeah I still use facebook because I'm busy and it still helps me keep up with friends. The calendar events is a handy tool too.

But I feel the bullshit is starting to outweigh the good/useful.

BTW, I joined FB April 7, 2009 so I missed the early days. The reason I joined that day was so I could kill time at work with co-workers. I think about how much time I continue to waste on FB and I think wow.

#317010 I've been thinking the same thing lately. But if it werent for Facebook I wouldnt have much contact with a lot of my friends. I totally agree with youi about the stupid crap people post (my mom especially, I've even considered blocking her post.) I joined quiet a long time ago, I dont know if there is a way to check when I joined, but it is totally on its way out in my opinion. There is a lot of people fed up with drama that is caused on it so they are deleting their accounts. Soon I might be one of them. :thumb:

#317014 As long as "teenage girls" have the Internet. Facebook with thrive.

"Like if you love god"
"Keep scrolling if you support cancer"

Social networking can fuck off. And if the Internet is the "only" way you can stay connected with friends, that's pathetic really. I'm all about Instagram and the occasional twitter because I can really regulate my communication with others. But anyone I care to talk to, I'd rather text, call, or actually hang out with. I even like emailing more than Facebooking.

#317016 My Wife was part of the 2nd University in Canada to join facebook and she invited me (the school was semi reference in the movie), so we've been on for a long time.

now about the damn spam. i just have a select bunch of people as friends, whos post appear on my news feed, and if any of them post crap i move them to the "no news feed" group so i still have them as friends but don't see thier gibberish post.

But lik EH2_ Andy says, school girls will always require some form of facebook to live.

#317129 THere's so many posts on the Civic-EG facebook page too. I'm glad that people are using it, but the way it's organized makes it unsearchable and I'm betting it will all be gone one day. Not like the forum where everything is searchable and will always be available. I try to get people to post important questions here and chit chat on the FB page but it's a lost cause.

#317130 I gave up on the Facebook page. Too many people asking dumb questions that can be found here and too many "like if.." Posts.

#317132 I haven't been on the FB page. I just chit chat in the junk yard. Would think the traffic here is better than there.

Technically myspace still is around. Its no where near its formal glory but alot of bands still use it.

I have never been a big fan of facebook, I have a facebook but have been using Google + for most of my social networking needs.
