D15, D16, D17 and Mini-Me swaps

#32900 Well, the intake tube and throttle body are tiny for starters. The CX/VX tranny has very long gearing. The engine is designed/tuned to run lean w/out misfiring, especially during cruise. The ECU uses a wideband O2 to be able to detect a lean mixture accurately. It has EGR. It's the only D-series engine that came with a lightweight aluminum alternator mount and front lower driver's side engine mount (bolts up to any D series). And most notably, it uses VTEC-E which is a mechanism that switches from 12 valve mode to 16 valve at 2500 RPM.

Basically Honda wanted a CX with even better gas mileage that would take off from a stop with as much guts as an Si (but it falls flat on it's face around 5500 RPM).

^^^ yep, and there the coolest hatch imo, oh also it uses a roller rocker head unlike the other eg's

ok because i just source a vx motor for cheap so i want to swap out my cx motor. i just need the ECU and harness right?

#32944 the P07 ecu is the vx one, so make sure you have one of those, i just saw one sell on ebay the other day for $41

#33053 I'm not sure because I don't know anything about the CX motor, but you'll most likely have to wire VTEC and possibly EGR. And of course the O2 sensor.

You're going from 60 hp to 92 hp. That's an improvement I guess. I could beat a CX on my skateboard.
