#331489 No offense to anyone from the state of GA but this is greed and a lack of any other way of coming up revenue for the state.

I received a speeding ticket on I-95 for doing 85 in a 70 and I am not complaining about that, I was in the wrong no big deal. I paid the ticket and was glad to get that bill taken care of. But then i received another ticket in the mail from the state saying I was classified as a super speeder? Now I am pissed because I am being fined twice from county and state for the same thing (double jeopardy). The Law states "anyone driving 75 mph or more on a two lane road or anyone driving 85 mph or more on a 4 lane road is a super speeder. :x This in IMO is bogus law. They say funds go to trauma respond unit.... yet the individual/insurance still gets a bill if you were in an accident smh.

So If i was doing 74 in 45 mph two lane road which most routes are or 84 in a 55 mph 4 lane road which most 4 lanes road are then am OK? Like I said what I did was wrong got it but don't make a bogus law to raise revenue for the state and charge me to foot the bill when I am not a resident of your state. Am done now lol :thumb:

#331501 "Super speeder" WOW! some person with common sense came up with that one.

Sounds like the only thing made in America nowadays is dumb laws.

#331502 The whole logic of this thread sucks. No you're not just "going to be all right" for doing 74 in a 45. It's 25mph over the speed limit and technically they can take you to jail for that. Or atleast in Colorado they can.

At the end of the day you got caught breaking the law. I don't see the problem

Like I stated I know I broke the law it's the fact the I got fined twice for the same "crime" is the point. Like in the saying measure twice cut once, well this is speed once get fined twice. That's all

#331506 Exactly. Had they just charged you more the first time, I would say "that's just the way it is"

But having them come back later on and say "you owe us again on that speeding ticket you already paid" is super shitty.

I'll be driving through GA next month and will remember this thread :thumb:

#331530 Ny state is similar to this, you get an additional fine for a certain mph over and for repeat offenders. Also for every ticketed moving violation you get a mandatory surcharge on your insurance. I have not had a ticket in almost 6 years and i plan to keep it that way.
