#36718 I'm in the middle of replacing my suspension and having a little trouble. First off, rear lca bolts are a nightmare to take off. On the rear driver's side, I managed to get the lca bolt off and the two nuts inside the trunk on top of the strut. My dilema is this. How do I remove the strut spring combo after removing the lca bolt and the 2 bolts inside the trunk? The lca is in the way and I can't get the bottom of the strut back over the lca to remove it. Can I just hold the wheel assembly down with my foot to allow the bottom of the strut to come free off the lca? I can take a pic of this and post it in a little while.

#36722 yeah hold it with your foot, whatever you have to do to get enough room to squeeze the strut over. I've done the same thing before to avoid removing the whole thing. (if I'm correctly picturing what you are describing )

#36723 Yes, just step on that SOB!! Get somebody to help you, that way 1 person steps on it, the other pulls the shock out.

Or you can unbolt the lca from the car. :thumb:

#36724 yeah you're on point. I'll try that. it seems like when you do the front, you dont have to worry about this since the fork comes off.

#36755 Just unbolt the lca where it meets the trailing arm and itll swing out the way - the bolts generally fine there and it give you loads of room to work

Ok, I'll try this if stepping on it doesn't work. Thanks Graham

#36792 Well stepping on the assembly allowed me to get the strut and spring free. I just need to get the new strut spring combo in. I cant seem to get it over the lca. Will compressing the spring allow me to get the strut over the lca?
