looks like Blu-Ray is going to win the battle....

#36603 Warner switching to BluRay exclusive is definitely a blow to HDDVD.

It's funny how people that support HD DVD only are saying they are going back to standard definition DVD (and upscale) rather than support BluRay.

#36604 It doesn't matter to me really, i just wish that they would just have one or the other, cause i want to get a HD DVD, or BlueRay player so i can use my HDTV to it's fullest, but wanting to get movies in highdef, you have to get one or the other, most movies you can't got on both formats so your f'ed...

+1 you would think that HDDVD would be the more popular one cause the HD DVD players are like $100-150 cheaper then the Blueray ones

The PS3 will most likely be the best Blu Ray Player on the Market, If for nothing else they can easily update your blu ray software to include advances. Such as the blu ray 1.1 update that happened not to long ago. I am sure that wont be last update they do.

If I was going to get a Blu ray player I would get the PS3. If for nothing else Sony will keep upto date on the blu ray software.

However I have no complaints about dvd's as I dont have an HDTV. My 50" SDTV plays my movies and games good enough for me. Plus becouse of the "SDTV Fuzzyness" your old games look better on the SDTV tvs the on the crystal clear hdtv.

My Wii looks so much better on my 50" SDTV then on my Buddys 42" Sony Bravia LCD. So :?

#37909 i have a ps3 and a 52 inch high def dlp. i don't use HDMI, though, i just use the component cables. it still displays in 1080i and HDMI's are a rip off. yay for blu-ray!
