#37970 For those who removed their AC. I'm in the process of finally removing the last two lines on the passenger side. I just need to figure out what to do with that evaporator unit inside the dash. How or what did you do with yours?

Removing it leaves a big hole.. to the duct..

#38053 I sold my set up to a guy and just took his replacement part for the delete. I'd just order it online or go to a junkyard.

#38642 I just opened up the evaporator and removed its guts.

Question about the relay for the fan and stuff on the driver side. That wiring is there a way to unplug it somewhere on the loom? I havent checked it out yet since my bumper is still on.

#38657 Yeah, I pulled the whole harness out. The complete system was sold.

#38659 There are a couple, if I remember correctly, under the bumper, snapped into the core support.

:edit: I also cut a plug off the harness that runs behind the passenger headlight. The non AC cars need the plug to install. That may be one end of the harness.

#48049 I REALLY don't mean to thread jack Derbo, but is there a write up on this somewhere w/pics or a diagram? My a/c hasn't worked for a year now and I may as well get rid of it and make the engine bay a little prettier in the process.

I've googled it but to no avail. any help would be greatly appreciated!

#48083 Remove your front bumper and you'll see how all the plugs are placed minus the one behind the passenger headlight. All the hoses are self explanitory but be sure to bleed the system first w/ the bleeder valves. Then unbolt everything. Removing the evaporator under the dash is up to you.

#48113 OH!

and will my heater still work?

#48129 Yes, you can just cut the belt but why would you want to just do that? I guess the question is why do you want to remove the unit anyway? If it is just because it doesn't work you might want to take it somewhere and have them diagnose the problem.

If it just needs to be charged it should cost less than a 100 dollars and you'd have cold AC again and if the system squeeks you could just replace the belt.

Also, yes, if you remove the system or just cut the belt the heater will still work as long as you leave the evaporator in the dash or replace it w/ the part delete.

#48135 No no no no... I'm still getting rid of the A/C unit, I was just wondering about the belt.

good thing the heater will still work. It gets cold during these harsh Texas winters. I can always roll the windows down in the summer.
