Yes i have a D16z6

D16z6
Edelbrock IM
60mm gasklep
Skunk2 stage 1 cam
4-2-1 header
Invidia 2,5" catback
Chiped with Chrome

Cam has to be fine tuned jet, and my cat still has to go...

This gives me 144hp and 163nm (stock 125hp, 141nm)...believe me it is NOT worth the money....save up and go for a b16 of a good turbo kit...

If you want to know more just send me a PM.

#38910 D61Z6?? Is that a V8 or something? :P

Seriously man, you're in Holland too.
It is NO use keeping a D-series engine when you can have a B16 relatively cheap.
It's also a much more reliable base to start with, the B is just better in construction :)

That's unless you would like to spend 2000 euro on a cheap turbokit, another 1500 on pistons and rods incl. bearings and still have an unreliable engine compared to a boosted B16.

Parts are NOT as cheap here as they are in the States...

#38915 These guys are right on. You can make a a boosted D have like 250 hp at the most really, but for the money you would have in that, you could boost a B16 and make another 50-100 hp easy. Plus its more reliable.

#38972 I found out the hard way thats fucking expensive BUT i have more respect for some one who builds a small engine to a fast one, instead of some one who just swaps and puts on a big turbo....(ofcours i have more respect for some one who builds a turbo engine, then some one who just buy's a fast car  )

N/A power is fun, but verry expensive

couldnt agree more :thumb: but it would be costly. go with a turbo setup and good tune you will be happy

X2

If your going to keep your D16z6 for a while. Turbo it. You can do it for Cheap if you make a Junkyard turbo, Good resource sites are home made turbo and Turbo D16.

However if your going to do a swap. Swap to an H22a It can be bought for about the same money a B16 will cost you. however you have tons more torque and 200hp! Then when you get some more money Boost the H22 and you will have a insanely fast EG/EJ.

If you boost your D16, if you leave it on stock internals you don't want to go over 220hp. If you put new stronger rods in, Such as Eagle H beams, or forged Rods. then your safe the boost some more over 220.

If you want your car to be reliable with its new power. Get a Good Tune then it will last you.

Good luck on your quest for power. :thumb: :thumb:

#39082 I've heard the reason not many people do h swaps is cause they are more heavy than a b series, and parts are alot more?

Its not near as much more heavy then you would think.
If i recall correctly the H22 is only about 50 pounds heavier then the B18. I did a Google search and most people say the same.

However with the new mounts you get some of the engine weight is shifted in front of the axles, thus to allow it to fit under the hood.

If I didn't want a K24, I would swap in a H22a, Then boost the piss out of it. :thumb:

#39087 I've heard from some knowledgeable people the H22 is actually quite a weak engine, unless fully built incl the sleeves.
Which off course, is truly expensive out here.

Want torque at all rpm?
Drop in a B18C4 and add a supercharger.

Or build the shit out of a H22 (H27 stroker kit anyone? :hehe: ).

#39278 The only thing I don't like about h22 is that you have to cut a hole on your car to make the shift linkage fit and that the tranny sucks balls. Some dude i know have one on his coupe and it pulls hella hard but I just can't stand the hole on his floor.

Getting started with the H22 is hard but once you dent the fire wall and change some stuff around (and adj everything for more weight in the front) then its worth it. I had one in my 94 accord and it dropped more than a second off the quarter mile times. 197whp n/a and a friend of mine had chrom chipped stock internals with a head gasket and head work making into the 400hp range no problem, hitting near 600 with sleeves no sweat. $$$ is the issue
