I'm curious if anyone has had, or knows about, the following problem;
Symptoms;
- When I accelerate (any gear), I can hear a clicking sound, wich can also be heard when releasing the throttle, or braking.
- It doesn't occur when steering (unless you ac/decelerate or brake).
- It can be reproduced every time I 'want', just by pressing the throttle (click), releasing it (another click), then braking or accelerating will both give the same click (same sound volume every time).
- It's heard at lower as well as higher speeds.
First of all; the joints on the inside and outside of the axle, are called CV joints in English?? (we call them homokineet... doesn't sound like what you use by far ;) ), if not, when you see 'CV joints' in this post, I mean those bearing-things on both ends of your axles...
I know that this could be a symptom of worn CV joints, but I've tried several times to accelerate/drive when steering 100% to the left and right, going in circles... no ticking noise.
I checked the upper and lower ball joints (sorry, forgot what those are called in English
), and there is no float to them, shocks behave normal as well, and the springs aren't cracked... motor mounts are good and tightened, wheel bearings seem okay, had some work done to this side of the car, but had the problem before and after.
Haven't checked the swaybar tho.
I just can't think of anything else anymore... so; anybody??
