#53164 I have a D16z6 With I/H/E. I got a GSR(p72) from a friend of mine. I have tryed running it a few times and it seams to do a better job then my p28(ex/si). VTEC seams to kick in harder and run better. Over all the Engine seams to Drive better with the GSR(p72) then the Ex/Si(p28) ecu.

I have come to you to ask what Consequence can happen by Running this ECU? I get an Engine Code for No Knock Sensor(as my z6 doesn't have one) other then that, The Ecu is not throwing any other codes.

#53166 the fuel maps are not correct for the motor..

How are you judging that vtec kicks in harder? ECUs do not tell you if your car is running lean or rich. You will not throw codes for that and that still can damage your engine if you run it prolonged like that.

If it is butt dyno, i can tell you it lies alot.

Your car maybe making less power than stock under vtec using the GSR ecuand then suddenly when vtec hits, you think its alot of power because of the difference between the two powers. VTEC does kick harder but thats because the original non vtec power is lower.

I hope that made sense.. I would just run the stock ecu and not have to worry about a CEL staring at me.

#53167 wouldn't it run a lot more fuel than the P28 would?....

What you said did make since and was very logical. Thats what I needed to Know.

Yes.

I talked to a Tuner locally and he said "The GSR Ecu is the best ECU honda made, Its the Best one for your Engine" (Exact quote)
The guy I got the Ecu from said he ran it when he had his D16z6 and "beat everyone around".

:? Seams fishy to me. I will end up take my car to a Dyno and Run it on both ECU's and see what puts out more power.

#53250 if he is running a d16z6 with a gsr ecu beating everyone around, its already fishy to begin with. hahha

yea the only way to tell is to run the car on the same dyno switching only the ecu. I would imagine, it wouldn't be that big of a difference to warrant a CEL on the dash bugging you.

I would run the P28 stock, and chipp the GSR ECU so you can tune your d16z6.

#53325 dyno and tell us outcomes!!

#53337 at least have a chipped ECU when you go to the dyno so you can actually make use of that dyno time, unless you can get free dynotime, i wouldn't waste money dynoing it for info.
