D15, D16, D17 and Mini-Me swaps

mini me help

- Tue Jun 17, 2008 7:48 pm #58886 okay im a little bit confused with the SOHC vtec motors, as we never got them here in SA. all the sohc vtec here are imports. but most are D15 or D16y8. the motor i have is a D16A7(same as the A6 but no cat). what i would like to know is what SOHC vtec head can i use on this motor. (keep in mind i ll be importing the head, so i dont wanna get it wrong)

if i am not mistaken i must get the Z6 head? and what about the ZC?

please help me out thanks guys 8)

- Tue Jun 17, 2008 11:16 pm #58917 the zc either comes in a DOHC or a SOHC and is non vtec... and a d15b7 block with a d16z6 head is normally what I see people put together for a mini me swap... there might be other mini me's though such as a b7 block with a y8 head or something like that but I'm not sure if that would be considered a mini me still though..

- Wed Jun 18, 2008 2:26 am #58949 d16a6 was in 88-91 si in the states. did a z6 head on a6 block and it was a good set-up. in my 90 hatch. it was an si. cherry when i got it. some bitch t-boned me. i miss it. :( :( :(

great stuff im just waiting for feed back on one now hope it works out. :D
