#58679 Well.. I guess in the end.. .its alll about how fast you want to go.. How reliable you want to be.... and the biggest part ... How much are you willing to spend... You get what you pay for... I honestly just love the D series... Im not saying they are the best... Yes the B series does put out more power.... but in the end I love my d16z6.. So its your choice...

You dont have to do that much to boost your z6 .. some people .. well a lot of people just either make their own.. or get a junkyard turbo.. and just stick it on their motor completely stock. One of my buds put 10 psi into his z6 with stock internals and has been running fine for over a year now O.o.. To me.. I would at least rebuild the motor... and put some stronger parts in their too. Oh.. and if you do turbo your d16z6 .. make sure to get the ARP headstuds :thumb:

#58687 aight so what im getting is keep the z6, rebuild it, and turbo it. how good is this stock tranny and axles? and wheres the best place to get the rebuild kits? i have to order everything online because i dont even know where the nearest shops are. im thinking idaho. i'll be more then happy if i run low 13's high 12's and dont have to worry about it breaking down when im just cruising, or on a roadie. thats all i need. and good looken out for all the help.

my ex put a turbo on his and well..it lasted a like 5 months but it blew.
then again he didn't tune his lol

He was boosting 8 pounds or 9 pounds I think without being tuned. He was running a turbo out of the first gen eclipses...he got his turbo from the junk yard too and it was cracked so he had to weld it a little and then he got tubing from home depot lol..lasted like 6 months Id say before he shot a rod through the block

lol i got wiseco slugs and eagle rods. Im not sleeved though but I have supertech valvetrain.. All this money spent into it...is blah. I am around 272whp..and just about to put an LSD into my D series tranny cause I broke the input shaft bearing. Unequal length axles ftL.


Dseries are fun, dont get me wrong.. 30mpg + turbo is always a plus.

All what is done to your cyl head?

I'm sticking with stock valves, have crower springs and retainers, and a comp 59300 cam. plus P&P.

Oh and Which LSD did you go with? Tranny build is next on my list.
