#65866 Any one have any idea how much boost a B16A with only a block guard, forged 9.0:1 Pistons, and Forged Rods would be able to handle. I'm thinking 14 or 15 lbs. Possibly more?

id say 14 is a pretty safe/reasonable number

not sure what max would be tho

#66663 who is goiong to tune it? or will you be running a base map only?

My little bro's EF hatch has a b16a and he daily drives 9psi making 289hp, but he can easily turn it up to 13psi and make around 320hp. and it's a STOCK b16a with a garrett t3/t4 .57trim, with a stage three wheel, BUT he is safe to be running that much because of the tune.

#66672 Before you think about how much boost you are going to push, What Turbo are you going to use? 14psi on a Small Turbo and 14 Psi on a big Turbo are quite different.

There is no magic number for safe boost for the reason above. when you reach certain horsepower levels is when stuff starts to break. for example the rods in a D16 are not reliable after 250hp.

Alot of how reliable you will be under Boost is in your Tuning, Just like Nitrous if you run without a good tune for long your engine will be gone soon. However with a good tune It should be quite reliable.

#66685 The turbo is a Garrett Ball Bearing T3/T4E 57 Trim. Fuel, Ignition, and Boost Control will be handled by Hondata S300 system. After initial turbo install, the car will just have a base map so that I can drive the car... no pushin' it. After acouple of days I will ferry the car over to a shop on another island (I'm in Hawaii), that has a dyno and the Hondata tuning software, and than tune for max performance with keeping reliability in mind.

#66742 In one of the more recent HondaTuning's they did this experiment and I think that with slight motor mods they pushed like 26 psi and 500 hp on the stock crank and I think block. I'll read it when I get home and let you know the exact things they did.

I read this one. if i remember right, it was a b16a only mod was forged pistons and it was making 500hp
