#69227 Ok, i heard that u should retard the timing on a vtec d16 as it helps out ?? is that just be passed on or is it true ? and if so does it have a negative impact ?

What would be the correct timing 0 , so 1 retard is good for what ?

Thanks also is there any other timing trick and i mean by tricks is dyno tested that is help when u advance or retard and how much ? thanks

#69233 correct timing is 16 degrees BTDC. to see if adjusting timing is helpful or a henderance, dyno it.

#69323 OK, example, there was a thread on here and some one wrote, that if u restard 1 on a vtec engine, it will rip harder and vtec will be stronger, that's what i mean by trick and question is , is it true and ever tested ? thanks tho

#69333 Ive never seen that thread. Like we said, only way to tell is with a dyno.

If this did work, you would be retarding the timing = reduce power in normal driving, to gain a tiny bit of power above 5000k rpm. I would leave it as is and keep the power where you will use it most :thumb:
And all of that is IF it does even work, which is not proven yet.
