- Wed Sep 10, 2008 6:42 pm #69164 The driver walked away!! The safety equipment did its job very well. This is at Turn 7, end of the back stretch. He apparantly lost his brakes and tried to still make the turn at 95 mph. The car went off and cartwheeled through China Beach, over the tire wall and a couple fences.

but on a serious note thank god for good roll cages im sure a few years back he would of been in critical condition on a stretcher in a helicopter .....we have come along way in racing saftey
