#78365 I've owned quite a few civics

2 98' civic ex
1 '95 civic ex
1 90 rex

I fell into the mini-trucking world there for a few years ago, and now I'm starting to go back to civic land.

I'm about to trade my truck for a h22 swap'd bubble. I've kinda always wanted a hybrid honda, but all of my past ones had stock engines. Any tips or hints on what to look for. After purchasing, I have to drive it about an hour back home, just trying to figure out some key things to look for to see if it can make it back home...

#78426 Look for any leaks, listen for any knocks (rod or main) see how the oil looks (hopefully not metallic)

Check coolant, be sure there's no trace of oil in coolant. I'd let the car warm up and take it around the block a couple times before you trade.

#78446 Yeah, I planned on driving it for a bit before doing anything. He sent me a pic of the block and it's stamped h22a4.

I done a lil researching and found this.

H22A4 2.2L DOHC VTEC 97-01 Prelude VTEC/SH 97-98: 195hp 99-01: 200hp

so it should be a stout lil engine, I plan on changing timing belt and water pump as soon as I get it though, then probably checking the suspension and upgrading it.
