#80804 Hey, a Question for you civic know alls please

1992 Civic hatch CX auto, checked the oil yesterday and it was bone dry!!! so i filled her up again and constantly check it. there is no oil stains under the car where i park or at work, i cannot think where its going except being burned off. so what would this mean? i was told "yeah, so your engine is scrap"

im having alot of trouble starting her in the mornings when cold, I think that the batt needs changing, i was told that i could adjust the plugs a little to get a better cold start.

Thanks in advance guys and or gals

Cheers

Mike

#80807 dont know about the plug gap or anything like that but if your burning that much oil look at your rear bumper if its black and your car isnt time for a new motor since well yea rings are prolly going but anyhow the oil could also be possibly leaking from around the gasket while your running it/driving the car haveing the oil circulating it may not pool alot but you may find a drip or two you have to look closely could just be a bad gasket somewhere......

but yea if your burning oil there will be sure signs of it such as the black smoke comming outa your tail pipe when you acceller8 and stuff like that but it could just be something simple.

And the starting problem get your battery tested or even get a better one with more cold cranking amps cheapo batterys make for shitty cold cars good batterys make your car turn on and get hott

but yea if your batterys going get a better one they are always great investments and well thats the main source of power for your car so make it good.

#80827 if your not dripping oil and the oil is going somewhere... you are burning it then.... My vx slowly burnt oil and I never had any blue smoke out the tail pipe :? .. Your motors piston rings are probably going out and your compression is dying too.... pull out a spark plug and see if its gummed up with carbon or whatnot... and if you know how... do a compression test on your motor.... that willl for surelly tell you about your piston rings .... or valves.. O.o
