Well, I have heard and encountered this site plenty of times before but, I have never registered cause honda-tech has suited my needs plenty. I have finally decided to register hoping to (if I ever need to) find more in depth info about our 5th gens.
So far I have been doing almost all my own work to my hatch. I'm a student and I work on Hondas on the side. Anything from motor swaps, wire tucks, wiring, cutting sidemarker holes, body work to minor collision repairs (just replaced a rad support on a crashed front end 96 civic). Only thing I probably can't do is work involving expensive equipment I don't have like anything dealing with a press or doing alignments but, I have had training on those.
Here are my hatches:
93 civic cx
mid 2007
Present
Project hatch
93 civic dx hatch
Notes:: front bumper chips is from freeway driving 1 hour roundtrip to school. captain jack sparrow is for added hp.
I've had three other hondas prior to these two. first was an 89 Legend, then 95 civic dx coupe and a 92 phantom grey hatch.
Plans:
Red hatch
I hope to switch to a tilt steering column and being able to use the rear hatch wiper, DIY alarm stealth install, switch to all oem front end(minus hood) and repaint and some serious motor work.
On the white hatch, when i have some extra funds not dedicated to the red hatch, i'm going to build a ls i have on the side for boost and black or grey interior (currently blue, yuck!).
my first technical question.
I believe not all hatches were wired for rear wipers. i have the switch and wiper/motor etc. I was wondering how much wiring there is for the rear wipers and if it was loomed into any other harnesses? Maybe someone atleast knows how it is routed?
So... just wanted to say hi and I hope this forum isn't as anal as H-t.
Thanks for your time.
