#93076 ive heard the ls vtec put out more power but what im trying to figure out is which puts higher numbers a...
ls/vtec with a b16b head (stock block) ls tranny or...
b18c1 block topped with a fully built ITR b16a head and gsr tranny??

#93085 a fully built ls/vtec can put down some really good numbers .. but if your talking bout comparing a gsr with a built type r head to a stock ls with a b16 head then the type r all the way but i would run a type r tranny with a lsd and 4.7 final drive on both motors. Also the itr head is off a b18 not a b16 that is a ctr head. The b16 head does have better flow charteristics then a type r head but thats nothing a port polish cant fix lol

WHOAAAA youve got an ITR head who woulda thought...dont bel;eive me take tht one to HT(with all do respect just saying) plus hate to bash but you kinda didnt even answer my question you blabered about gear ratios and final drive? goooood one.... thanks :thumbdown: fail!

wrong. Poor mans R is a B18c1 block with a B16a head.


The B18c1 with a fully built ITR head will make more power than a stock block ls using a B16a head.

Tranny has nothing to do with power made, just how fast it accels. Even if the LS/V made more power, the GSR tranny would negate alot of it with better gearing.

#93304 LS VTEC isnt better for anything unless you build it for that. Just slaping a vtec head on a stock LS block is the worst way of building the motor. Your still limited to the 7k redline of the LS, and you will have shit for compression.
