#169864 Thermostat would be the quickest fix if thats the problem. Test yours in a pot of boiling water and go from there. :thumb:

#169871 so you mean pour boiling hot water down my radiator?

#169958 He means take your T-stat out and put it in a pot of water on a stove with a thermometer in it. If your T-stat begins to open at 170degrees and is fully open by 190degrees, it's working properly.

IMO, that's more trouble than it's worth. Just replace your thermostat first, then if it still overheats, replace your radiator cap, and flush your cooling system. If it still overheats, replace your waterpump. Might as well replace the timing belt while you're in there. You'll regret it in the long run if you don't.

#170012 so it gets warm then you drive and it goes cold but does it ever go back to being warm after driving awhile???? If it shows cold all the time (when your driving) then maybe the gauge is broken??????????

I had the same thing, a leaking head gasket was allowing air from the cylinder into the coolant passage.

have you checked the fan yet?
