#239240 Today my clutch pedal just took a crap ....... it was working fine but now it's all wobbly and it has a very hard Time I engaging ....... I checked and its leaking inside behind the pedal from the master cylinder I'm guessing...... Idk what to do or how to do it and I can't shift gears consistently enough to try and drive it some where ...... Help :cry:

#239339 it's time to replace the clutch Master cylinder.

I've done a few but never took pics to write up a how-to. It's easy though.

disconnect the clutch pedal from that rod by pulling the pin out. Then go under the hood and remove the clutch line from the master cyl housing. Also disconnect the 2 wires going to the plastic tank, or maybe they only go to the lid- if that's the case then just remove the lid.
Then go back under the dash and remove the nuts on the bolts holding the clutch pedal to the firewall. Then the master cylinder will be loose and you can pull it right out of the engine bay.
Install in reverse order and then bleed the clutch line when youre done by using the bleeder screw on the slave cyl.

#239340 when bleeding a clutch you have to have the valve tight(closed) before releasing the pedal then open again after the pedal is pressed again.

You said in another post that you used an S2000 master cylinder - was it a straight fit and what year was it from (if age matters)?

#239570 any year S2000 should do, they're all the same.

it was a straight fit :thumb:

The clutch pedal seems to have less travel now for faster shifts like a short throw shifter. it feels a little more firm as well.

#239588 it's exactly how I posted above, direct swap. so it's like putting the civic master cyl in except the plastic fluid tank is attached so it's one piece instead of a hose running to the tank mounted to the shock tower.

#241692 I read some where that if you swap it that way u need a spacer because the rod is slightly longer in the s2k cmc then my eg's ...... And I already orderd the new cmc and it'll be my first write up :hehe:

#241764 That's exactly what I orderd the s2k omni ....... did u need the spacer?..... and I like the steel braided replace of the hardlines I might do it too ....

#241804 Looking at that spacer, why not just change the length by adjusting the threaded end of the rod?

I didn't use the spacer but I have only driven my car in/out of the garage once and it felt alright.

does the hard lines fit right into the s2k master clutch cylinder? or does it require a bit of bending?

#241829 the s2k is on the side while the oem one has the line coming out on the top, so no. I already had a braided stainless line & fitting so it wasn't an issue. But you would have an extra step to deal with.
